Notification Groups
In a nutshell, user groups are your way of sending the right message to the right people. When a person joins a group (or you manually add them), they will be enrolled to get notifications about that specific group. For example, instead of sending messages to the entire school about Senior pictures, you can just send them to people who are registered in the Senior group. You can create, edit, and delete your app's user groups from the Administrative Superpowers screen.
Resetting Notification Groups in Onespot
As students matriculate, members may want to join or leave different notification groups to ensure they receive relevant updates. Onespot allows you to reset notification group selections, making it easier for users to manage their preferences.
How to Reset Notification Groups:
- Go to Admin Superpowers – Navigate to the Notification Groups section.
- View Existing Groups – Here, you’ll see all the notification groups currently set up in your app.
- Select "Advanced" Options – Scroll down to find the option "Make all users reselect their groups."
- Trigger the Reset – When selected, all members will be prompted to select the groups they want to receive notifications from.
Why This is Useful
- Ensures members receive notifications that are most relevant to their current roles or interests.
- Helps prevent outdated or irrelevant messages from being sent to users who no longer need them.
- Encourages engagement by allowing users to customize their notification preferences periodically.
Resetting notification groups every so often is a great way to ensure that users stay informed while keeping the app organized and efficient. 🚀
