One on One Chats

If you want to allow one-on-one chats within your community, Onespot makes it easy for parents, staff, and other members to communicate directly. This feature enhances engagement by enabling parents to connect with other parents, parents to reach out to staff, and staff members to message each other or specific individuals.

How to Enable Direct Chats:

  1. Go to Admin Superpowers – Navigate to the Account Types section.
  2. Locate Direct Chats – You'll see the option to enable direct chats for different user types.
  3. Adjust Chat Permissions – Select the account type (e.g., Parents) that you want to modify.
  4. Limit Who They Can Chat With – If you only want parents to reach out to staff, enable direct chats and uncheck all other options except staff.
  5. Auto-Save Settings – Once set, the changes will be saved automatically.

How It Works for Users:

  • Parents can go to their chatbox, start a new conversation, and message staff members or other allowed contacts.
  • Staff members can communicate only with approved account types, ensuring controlled and relevant interactions.
  • This customization maintains privacy and security while allowing seamless communication within the school community.

With direct chat permissions, you can control how users interact, ensuring that conversations remain focused, appropriate, and beneficial for all members. 🚀
