Fixing Broken Links in a Google Sheets

When connecting Google Sheets to your Onespot app, it’s important to ensure that all links are properly formatted as URLs. If a link is not working, it is likely because the cell contains text instead of an actual clickable URL.

Step-by-Step Guide to Fixing Broken Links in Google Sheets

Step 1: Identify the Broken Link

  1. Open your Onespot app and navigate to the Supply List.
  2. Click on a link that is not working (e.g., "Kelly and Mills Elementary").
  3. If the link does not open, the issue likely lies in the Google Sheet data source.

Step 2: Check the Link in Google Sheets

  1. Open the Google Sheet that is connected to your Onespot app.
  2. Locate the column where the links are stored.
  3. Find the broken link entry (e.g., "Kelly and Mills Elementary").

Step 3: Verify the Link Format

  • If the cell contains only text (e.g., just the name of the link), it will not work.
  • If the cell contains a hyperlink formula or a proper URL, it should function correctly.

Step 4: Extract and Replace the Link

  1. Click on the broken link cell and check if it’s just a name without an actual URL.
  2. Copy the real link from the hyperlink formula.
  3. Paste the full URL into the appropriate cell.

Step 5: Save and Refresh the Onespot App

  • Go back to the Onespot app and check the updated link.
  • Click on the supply list again—now the Kelly and Mills Elementary link should work correctly.
